Abstract

Building lexical resources for Indian languages is a priority task. A number of tasks were decided to be completed in LERIL , Jan, 2001. One of the tasks was to create syntactically annotated corpora for all Indian languages. For doing so a standard tag scheme had to be evolved. Present paper is a description of this scheme and the issues involved while developing the tagging scheme.
