Dynamic simulation of base fault motion for studying ground surface deformationAuthors: Pradeep Kumar Ramancharla,Kimiro Meguro Conference: 8th Workshop on Earthquake Resistant Desing of Lifeling Facilities and Countermeasures Against Liquefaction Date: 2002-12-17 Report no: IIIT/TR/2002/21 AbstractA new application to Applied Element Method is proposed and numerical modeling of fault rupture propagation in dynamic condition is done using 2D AEM. It is found from the result the PGA very near to the fault trace becomes relatively smaller and increases to peak value and then attenuates towards the hanging wall side. This information can give insights to actual phenomenon. Full paper: pdf Centre for Earthquake Engineering |
