Cognitive Science

Cognitive Science is the study of how an agent interacts with its environment, forms beliefs about it, and how the beliefs, in turn, affect its perception of the environment. We focus on exploring the mechanisms underlying the processes of perception, action, reasoning and beliefs. It has relevance for computer science and engineering in the areas of usability engineering, artificial intelligence and robotics.

Some specific areas of cognitive science on which we are doing research are: brain-based robotics, usability engineering, modeling creativity, visual cognition in pictures and films, tourism and cognition. We conduct empirical studies to gather data, and develop theoretical and computational models of the underlying cognitive processes.
