GeoSpatial Information Systems

GIS integrates, analyze, and stores the geospatial data. GIS applications are tools that allow users to create interactive queries (user-created searches), analyze spatial information, edit data, maps, and present the results of all these operations

GI Science data represents real objects (such as roads, land use, elevation) with digital data. Research related to this field is mainly focused on development of algorithms for the functionality within GIS domain like identifying the shortest path or network. Also towards the applications related to Web-GIS and Computational geometry. Lab also works on the development of geo-spatial tools using Open source software.
