M.Tech in Computer Aided Structural EngineeringComputer Aided Structural Engineering is an innovative programme, focused on the combination of recent advances made in the field of structural engineering and computer science. Gradual diffusion of some interdisciplinary areas with structural mechanics has nearly revolutionized the way in which many problems in structural engineering are looked at and solved. The rapid advances made in computational mechanics for solving non-linear ordinary and partial differential equations of interest in structural analyses are in perfect tune with digital revolution. These methods now allow the structural engineer the flexibility and freedom for a better understanding of structural behavior with material and geometric non-linearity and loading uncertainties. This is required because, each Building in itself is unique. It requires expertise for proper planning, design and execution. How the structural members behave for the given static and dynamic loads? How load is transmitted from structure to ground requires considerable insight into structural behavior.
The objective of CASE program is to include recent advances in the development and use of computer methods for the solution of scientific and engineering problems related to structures.
M. Tech in Computer Aided Structural Engineering
Student has to acquire a minimum of 65 credits in 4 semesters to become eligible to receive M. Tech in CASE degree. They have to acquire a minimum of 24 credits from domain structural engineering subjects, minimum of 12 credits from computer science subjects and minimum 4 credits from projects.
Placement
The major companies that participated in the placement process included companies like Auto Form, InfoTech, Nhance Engineering Solutions (ARUP), Neilsoft, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Projects Ltd, IJM, Arvee associates, etc. The industry, including top-notch companies, appreciated the capability and knowledge levels of the students. MS in Computer Aided Structural EngineringThe M.S is a research oriented program. Students of this program are required to take compulsory courses in the domain of structural engineering and computer science. After completing the course requirement, student works on his research topic leading to M.S dissertation. Expected time for completing M.S 2 to 3 years.
Eligibility
BE/B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering Ph.D in Computer Aided Structural EngineringThe Ph.D is a research oriented doctoral program. Students of this program are required to take compulsory courses in the domain of structural engineering and computer science. After completing the course requirement, student works on his research topic leading to Ph.D dissertation. Expected time for completing PhD is 3 to 4 years.
Eligibility
BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech degree in Civil Engineering |
