The domain area of the centre is Building Science. It includes study of building physics, systems design concepts, and an awareness of sustainability to promote the design and construction of buildings that are more durable, healthier, more sustainable and more economical than most buildings built today. Building science is the collection of scientific knowledge that focuses on the analysis and control of the physical phenomena affecting buildings. This includes the detailed analysis of building materials and building envelope systems. The research centre aims in the design of a sustainable environment by analysis, and developing methods of analysis using various IT tools. It works in areas related to building automation to make use of technology for a better and safer living environment. The broad goals of the centre include, but are not limited to: * Improving knowledge about various IT tools related to energy, lighting, fire and acoustical simulation, for buildings. * Creating awareness in field of sustainable and green buildings * Introduction to various intelligent technologies that drive in providing smarter living space. * Introducing concepts of control systems and building automation. * Encouraging the use of information technology to predict the behavior of a space.
