Robotics is a vast interdisciplinary area, a chasm that spans through the disciplines of mechanical, electronics and embedded systems, computer science and even cognitive science. It involves innovative mechanism design with a combination of actuators/motors providing for a novel locomotion behavior, sensors and interfaces for information gathering and algorithms that aptly actuate the motors based on the interpretation of sensors. Based on the sensing modalities, the coordination strategies and the kind of algorithms used we classify our research into the following subareas, namely Mobile Robotics, Multi-Robot Systems, Robot Mechanisms and Control and Robot Vision. The center is well quipped with state of the art robot platforms and sensors and has been publishing in top international conferences like ICRA, IROS, IJCAI, AAMAS.
